Bring a little piece of brutalist architecture to your garden. Inspired by abstract art and brutalist architecture, this insect refuge has an urban appearance and abstract form. This design offers a contrast to widely available, and often unsuitable ‘bee hotels’.
Made by John Hollington, using sustainably sourced European oak that has been blackened using the Shou Sugi Ban process and has an accent of weathered Corten steel that casts a crisp geometric shadow. Shou Sugi Ban is the most sustainable and natural method of weatherproofing and darkening oak, producing an organic appearance.
Fix to a sunny unobstructed outside wall and store in a dry place out of the weather over winter. Size: 20cm x 20cm x 10cm
